Important offerings for the Lord Dhanwantari are Mukkudi, Dhanwantari Homam,Thamara Mala, Tulsi Mala,Thrukkai Venna, Palpayasam, Atta Kuzhambu, Venna Pazham, Ennaydal.
Mukkudi Nivedyam is a very special offering to Lord Dhanwantari. It is prepared by using dry ginger, pepper, pomegranate peel, cumin seed, turmeric, rock salt (Induppu) and other such items of medicinal quality. It is offered to the deity during 'Usha- Pooja' on all Thursdays. Mukkudi Nivedyam is later on distributed to the devotees present on that occasion. This divine medicine is believed to be a curative for all kinds of abdominal problems.
